Jake's a party animal!

We took Jake to his first wedding last night.  He could not stop talking about the band and wanting to dance!  As soon as the first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dances were over he hit the dance floor...basically it was the Jake show for two hours.  He had so much fun!

I asked him before the wedding who he was going to dance with and he said, "Aunt Jenn!"  then we got there and he said, "all by myself!"  and he did dance all by himself a TON.  We finally left around 10:15 and little man crashed in the car on the way home.  It was so cute!

Tomorrow is another big day...first day of soccer at school!  Jake is pumped!

August 2012

Brad and I took our very first trip together since Jake was born!  We went to St Louis for our Anniversary weekend.  It was so fun but also really really hard and sad to leave him!

We drove up on Friday and met up with my friend Annie to see her perform at the Muny as Mabel in Pirates.  Then on Saturday we visited with Annie a little more and then headed to downtown STL for the Cardinals game.  We had a great time and loved our hotel...the only problem was the hotel was so family friendly that it made us miss Jake even more!  We just kept saying, "Jake would love this!"  After a fun few days we were super ready to get back to little man on Sunday.  Nana and Papa said Jake was a very good boy though!

The next week was a big week for us!

I graduated from my P2L training (Professional to Leader)...six months sure did fly by!

Jake moved into a toddler bed...I caught him climbing out of the crib.  Then he moved to his new 2 year old class at school the following week!  Then I headed out to Akron Oh for two days for work.

The last weekend of the month was here before we knew it and we took Jake to the Memphis Tigers football game!  So much fun! He LOVED it.  We will be frequenting the stadium as much as possible this season!

I cant believe September is here already!

Back to Bloggin!

It has been quite a while since I posted last...I'm going to make it a point to do better now.  :)  So much has happened in the last 9 months!

Jake moved to the Toddler 2 class in November.   We were worried with the transition, but pleasantly suprised and happy with his new teachers, Ms Tina and Ms Brittney (who started a few months later).  They have been a huge blessing!  Jake has learned so much with the two of them as his teachers.

Here are a few of the highlights of the things he is doing....
  • Working on potty training and doing really well
  • Counts 1-20
  • Says ABCs
  • Knows colors, shapes, and MANY animals (some that I didnt even know!)
  • Knows right from left
  • Uses his manners to say please, thank you, yes/no maam/sir
  • Knows about the stoplight colors and what they mean

We took a trip to Michigan to see PJ, Terri, Catie, Rosie, Collin, Gram & Grandpa, and the rest of the family.  I posted a felow...I dont have as many as I would like because I lost my camera charger and the battery died during the trip!  I was not happy about that!

The trip was great though.  We had so much fun with PJ and family!  Jake learned about hockey and he still wants to play almost every day!  He really really took to them quickly which was so fun to see.  Sometimes he gets shy but definitley not with his Aunt, Uncle and cousins!

We also took a morning to go to Crossroads Villiage.  I have such great memories of that place as a kid, and Mimi and Pop got married there!  So fun to take him too!  Jake LOVED the train ride and talking to the conductor!  Mimi even bought him a small train and track.
